With really only three weeks under my belt, it’s tough to describe what it might be like working here at Robot Chicken on their 6th season. It’s pretty crazy around the office already what with planning meetings and moving offices, but most of the staff doesn’t even seem fazed by the work, or even the combination of Seth’s stalkers and flaming dog s**t on the front door every morning (not every geek agrees with our portrayal of DC/Marvel characters), so I can only imagine what’s to come as we get underway. Hopefully less dog crap to start.
So far my time here has been great though! Being Matt and Seth’s new executive assistant means being privileged with all sorts of important responsibilities and tasks that can’t be trusted to anyone else—like picking up coffee for the writing staff and setting up Matt’s Xbox Live account. The guys really make me feel like an essential part of the Robot Chicken team. They said if I keep doing such a good job, I might even be entrusted with the incredible honor of “washing Seth’s car”. What that might be code for here I don’t know, but I’m sure it’s crucial for the company.
It’s actually pretty surreal getting to work on a show you’ve watched from its very beginning though and I’m really excited to be a part of whatever ends up happening as everyone gears up for next season. I hear great things! I can only imagine the humping robots and Nerf gun fights that may await me and can only hope to come out as twisted as Beans (the former exec. Assistant turned Robot Chicken writer) has by the end of my tenure.
Now to finish hosing off the front walkway….
